KERF
KERF is a workshop in Providence focusing on residential woodwork, furniture and historic preservation.
Edward Lloyd is the owner of KERF and has spent more than 25 years in home building and furniture making. A native New Yorker, he began his career working in the shops of Daskam & Dworkis, Platform FAF, and BDDW, where he learned the value of careful craftsmanship and precision woodwork.
Now based in Providence, Eddie focuses primarily on the repair and restoration of older homes. His work often involves addressing structural issues, restoring windows and doors, and rebuilding architectural details that have seen better days- all with an eye toward keeping houses comfortable and functional while preserving what makes them special.

Eddie is hands-on throughout the process and works closely with homeowners, architects, and designers. His background in furniture making shows up in the details: clean execution, thoughtful proportions, and work that feels settled rather than new. He enjoys the quiet problem-solving that comes with caring for buildings meant to last another hundred years.
